O first enthroned among the Apostles and teachers of the whole world; entreat the Master of all, that He grant peace to the world and great mercy to our souls. -Troparion to the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul On Thursday, June 12,2012 the Holy Church marks the feast of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul. With the generous invitation of Priest Stephen Kaznica rector of SS. Peter and Paul Russian Orthodox Cathedral in Passaic NJ, the clergy of the Three Saints Church in neighboring Garfield, visited its sister parish on the occasion of its Patronal Feastday. At the end of the service, Fr Stephen greeted the above-mentioned clergy and the worshipers who came to lift their prayers to the Holy Apostles. Fr. George then thanked Fr. Stephen for the invitation to serve with the brothers and sisters, "across the river". After the Divine Services, there was a bountiful luncheon in the Parish Hall. on your names day. Many Years! On June 24th, 2012, at 7:15 am, Priest Michael Sydek, cleric of the Patriarchal Parishes, reposed in the Lord at the age of 68, having suffered for many years. Father Michael was ordained to the diaconate in 1992, and to the holy priesthood in 1996. He served as cleric in St. Andrew's Church in Philadelphia, as rector of St. Nicholas Parish in West Chester, and later at St. Nicholas Parish in Reading, PA. He retired in 2005 due to ill health. Fr. Michael was a good priest and a kind, gentle soul. May the Lord grant his long-suffering servant Priest Michael eternal rest among the saints. Source:Fr. Stephen Kaznica Memory Eternal! Photos are available for our readers below On Sunday, June 3, 2012 the Holy Church celebrates the feast of the Holy Trinity or "Pentecost". The feast of Pentecost commemorates the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles on the fiftieth day after the Resurrection of Christ. The triumphant singing of the hymn "O Heavenly King" was first sung during the Great Vespers service, served the night before. The Divine Liturgy was celebrated by the parish clergy along with a multitude of believers. The festal epistle, marked the event in which Apostles witnessed the descent of the Holy Spirit. At the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy, the Great Vespers of Pentecost was served, along with the Kneeling Prayers. With the abundant greens in the church, along with a strong sense of prayer from the believers, it was more than clear, that the Holy Spirit was among us, and every church celebrating the feast of the Holy Trinity. On Sunday, May 27,2012 the parishoners of Three Saints Church, as a local traditiion, to honor the Orthodox Veterans, and specifically Veteran Parishoners of the church. During the Divine Liturgy, the parish was honored with the visit of Archpriest Michael Popkhadze, a now familiar face at Three Saints. At the conclusion of Liturgy, the clergy and congregation processed to the Flag and Memorial Headstone, commemorating the Veterans. A solemn Panikhida was served, and despite the blazing heat, all prayed that the Lord will establish the souls of all Orthodox Veterans. Memory Eternal! - Вечная память! As a hopefull continuing tradiaition, on the afternoon of May 27, 2012, a small group of altar servers along with Fr. George, drove to the Parish's Section, at the George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus NJ. The tradition is, that the assembled will place the American Flag at the Grave Markers for all the Orthodox Veterans buried there.
