On Saturday, January 19, 2013 - the great celebration of the Baptism of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ took place in Garfield. Friday night, January 18th, the service of the Grand Compline and Matins was held in which a multitude of worshipers came to church. At the end of Matins, Fr. George preformed the 1st Great Blessing of Water.
On Saturday morning, the Festal Divine Liturgy was served by the parish clergy in honor of the feast. The Divine Liturgy was well-attended, in which the majority partook of the Holy Mysteries. After the Prayer before the Ambo, Fr. George preformed 2nd Great Blessing of Water. After his sermon, the faithful prayerfully partook of the blessed water, and brought with them for their own homes.
