On Saturday the 27th and Sunday, August 28, 2011, the Holy Church celebrated the great feast of the Dormition of the Theotokos. On the eve of the great feast during the singing of the Troparion of the Feast, the Holy Shroud of the Theotokos was carried in procession to the center of the church. Despite the impending Hurricane "Irene", a great number of worshippers came to lift up their prayers to the Holy Theotokos. After the Divine Liturgy on Sunday, Fr. George preformed the blessing of Flowers and Fragrant Herbage.
