On Sunday, September 18, 2011 , the Russian Orthodox Church of Three Saints, Officially "burned" their mortgage. This was a very special day not only to the young parishioners and new-comers, but to those who literally purchased the property and built our magnificent temple.
This special day began with the celebration of the Divine Liturgy. The Liturgy was served by Father George along with Archpriest John Nehrebecki (Pastor Emertius of Christ the Saviour Church, Paramus NJ) , Archpriest Basil Micek (Pastor of SS. Peter and Paul Church in Scranton Pensylvania) and Hieromonk Stephen Bushman. This celebration was especially heartwarming for Fathers John and Basil, because of the fact they were both at one point Parish Priests during our church's lives. After the Gospel, Fr. John delivered a sermon in which all in the congregation listened intently. After Holy Communion, Fr. George along with the above - mentioned clergy, served a Panihida for those of our parish community who passed away and a Thanksgiving Molieben for all of our parish community.
After the Liturgy concluded, the parishioners gathered into the Cultural Center for a celebratory dinner. Before those gathered partook in the meal, representatives of the different organizations in our church gathered around the document considered our mortgage, and in the spirit of the moment, officially burned our mortgage!
This truly was a joyous day in our parish life!
